34 week visit

34 weeks 3 days

So I had my 34 week visit today! Everything went better than expected. Judging by my scale I thought I had gained 5lbs in the last 2 weeks and I was not happy about it. Turns out I only gained 2! WHEW. I thought for sure it would have been more since I've been getting hungry every 2 hours. So that was a nice surprise. We also found out that Madalyn flipped so she is head down now- another big relief! I figured she was since I couldn't feel her head anywhere, but she moves ALL over the place so it's really hard to tell where her limbs are, she must be doing gymnastics in there or something. I'm measuring right at 34cm, however I feel like she's dropped. Starting yesterday I've had to pee a lot more and even right after I go I still feel like I'm going to pee! Plus the heartburn has eased up a bit so I knew something had changed. Still lots of false labor contractions, and now they are happening more in the mornings and afternoons on top of the ones already been going on in the evenings. Somehow I don't think it'll be 6 more weeks, but we'll see what little Madalyn has in store for us- I want her to come when SHE is ready! No induction for me if medically we can avoid it. My wonderful doula Miriam also joined us for today's visit and we went over my birth plan with Dr. Cerny. Things look to be in good order as long as no medical problems arise! My OB is part of a group of midwives so she understands my desire for a natural birth. Good to have her on board! My blood pressure is still good- 122/70, so I'll keep drinking TONS of water and take good care of myself to ward off any potential problems.

Kamryn's birthday party is 2 weekends from now- she is getting SO excited about it! I can't believe she is going to be 4. It makes me sad to see that she's not my little baby girl anymore. I can't wait to see her as BIG SISTER though... she is already so sweet with her 9 month old cousin Juliet. I bet she'll do great!
So my birthday is tomorrow... big deal. BUT my loving husband has decided that I deserved some good R & R before this baby comes so he is taking us to the beach for the weekend! I just found out this afternoon and I am SO EXCITED! Anyone who knows me knows I could spend an entire day laying on the beach. JUST what I need right now. This past week I have gotten so uncomfortable and I know it's only going to get worse until little Madalyn decides to be born. Then I'll have an infant again- YIKES! This will be good. Kamryn and Clint love the beach too so It'll be some good family time. I'll make sure to post some good photos next week when we get back!
