Cabo Day Four!

Our last full day of the trip we decided to take a boat out to see the arch "El Arco," the sea lion colony, and then spend some time on Lover's Beach; a secluded beach nestled between the rocks. This was the perfect day to go! There was a Carnival cruise visiting Cabo that day, but luckily we went early enough to beat the crowd that would surley be taking excursions to the same location. Plus, there was hardly any shade but what was cast by the rocks, and we wanted to enjoy it before it got too HOT.

We had to walk down the beach a ways since the boat would not pick us up in front of the resort because of the huge waves. We boarded "Serena" at 9:30 and took a quiet boat ride with 4 others across the bay to the arch. It was so amazing! The rocks rose atleast 100 feet out of the ocean, and the waves crashing on the sides of them were absolutely beautiful. There was a small sea lion colony nearby and it was so neat to watch and hear them in their natural habitat.

This was the Sea Lion colony on the shaded rock

We rode around to the other side of the arch and enjoyed the view. We were then dropped off at Lover's Beach. The sand was just as amazing there as on the mainland, and the waves on the pacific side were probably the biggest I've seen. You definatly had to be careful if you got close to the water because you never knew when a giant wave would come crashing to the shore and take you with it! It was so peaceful out there and truely one of Gods most amazing creations.

Waves crashing behind Clint

Back on the mainland we headed back to the resort and enjoyed the view poolside for a bit. After having lunch and some delicious soft serve, I decided to nap under an umbrella while Clint went to the fitness center (I refuse to work out on vacation!) but he was being good. After an hour or so it looked like storm clouds were coming so we headed up to our balcony to enjoy the rain that never came. We ended up taking our time getting ready for dinner- we had reservations at the steak house at 7:45- late but better than our other option of 6:00! Of course we were ready early so we went down to the beach for the last time and got to watch the annual release of lab hatched endangered baby sea turtles back into the wild!

Tiny little turtles!

The poor little turtles had a difficult time making it into the ocean because the waves kept washing them back up shore. Everyone's job was to hang around and yell everytime a pelican came by to try and snatch one for dinner. Until all of them made it safely in the water.

(Lover's Beach is right behind my head...)

Time for dinner! We each ordered rib eyes with potatoes and corn and some yummy chimmichurri sauce to pour over our steaks! If you've never had chimmichurri I highly reccomend it. We fell in love with this cuban dressing at an amazing restaurant "Little Havana" in Miami back in 2003. After our delicious dinner we watched the flaming cake show- flaming strawberry and liquor poured over a neopolitan ice cream cake!

The main topic at dinner that night? Our excitement to go home and see Kamryn the next day!
