2 Months

UPDATE:
Tuesday the 13th we visited Dr. Tressler for Madalyn's 2 month appointment. She is right on target with her growth! She is now 11 lbs 2 oz and 21 3/4 inches long. Her head circumference is 39 cm. For those of you who would like to know her percentile, she is 25% for her length (another slightly short little girl) and 50% for her weight. Her head is also 50%. She has stayed nicely on the growth curve, and most importantly her head circumference, which tells us that her brain is growing wonderfully! Dr. Tressler gave her an A+! He gives grades its hilarious. He also told me that if I can strictly breastfeed until 12 months she will have 5-7 point IQ above average... I told him I'll do it until she gets teeth! Ha that is my plan. Of course who knows how much of that is true, Kamryn is one smart cookie and she could never breastfeed.

This last month has been a riot! When Madalyn turned 6 weeks things really started to change! She became much more interested in what was going on around her, and began to sleep better at night. Now she does longer stretches at night, usually between 5-7 hours, and she has to be on her tummy. Crucify me if you must, but tummy sleeping is a must for her. I know, I know, "back to sleep." But she won't have it! NONE of us were getting much sleep around here, if she wasn't being held she would wake up 10 minutes after laying her down. Well I figured sleeping on us is much more dangerous than sleeping on her tummy in a safe crib! Also, a half rested Mommy can take much better care of her children than a "running on no sleep" Mommy. So Clint and I gave in. She goes right down after nighttime feedings, and takes great naps during the day! It's interesting though right about 6pm she gets super fussy. It took us a few days to figure out she was exhausted! I'm not sure why, it seems like she sleeps so much. Anyway, I am making more of an effort to have her in her crib for all naps, where she can get some good rest. She gets really alert after a good morning nap, and play time is so fun! Madalyn is definately starting to look more like Kamryn at that age, sometimes it's like I have de ja vu!

6 weeks-Madalyn

7 weeks- Kamryn

This outfit from Aunt Beth she looks SO cute in! I had to take her photo.

She is much more alert during the day, listening to us talk to her and taking an interest in some toys. She is starting to coo, and we are seeing the beginnings of a real smile! Everyday she flashes more and more smiles at us, and they never get old. Kamryn always runs over to get a glimpse too! She likes to have tummy time on her playmat, and at 6 weeks on 6/22 she rolled from tummy to back! Her other favorite thing is her bouncer, that always brings a smile! She almost giggled the other day too, it was so cute! It was more like a gurgle, but paired with a big smile, it had to be her version of laughing!

A half smile (I can't seem to catch the big grin!)
8 weeks- Madalyn

Kamryn- They look just alike!
Play time with Daddy!
8 weeks- Madalyn

Kamryn
It's so amazing how they look alike. I still call Madalyn "Kamryn" all the time!

The cousins on fathers day (except Juliet was sick) Poor Madalyn did NOT like this spot.

Kamryn has been so great with Madalyn. At bedtime she reads to her, and when Madalyn cries she runs to give her a hug and kiss! It is so precious to watch. The other day she was playing with her dolls in her room. I heard her say it was time to eat, but she needed to pump some milk! I was thinking, "Did I hear that right?" Then she came in with her shirt lifted and 2 cups pressed up against her tummy! It was hilarious and one of the funniest things she's done so far!
A few days later her doll was hungry, so she ran to the couch, wrapped the boppy pillow around her, lifted her shirt and began to "feed" her baby. As if this wasn't funny enough, she looked at me and very seriously asked, "Can you bring me the iPod?" We have this wonderful iTouch that saves me during feeding time. It's the only chance I get to check my email!
Kamryn "Pumping."
Nursing time! HAHA
Kamryn does get frustrated in the mornings when I have to feed Madalyn and she has to wait for breakfast. I battle that most mornings. It seems like Madalyn always gets hungry right about the time Kamryn wakes up!
She loves to hold her and asks all the time! She is such a great big sister, so patient and doesn't even get mad when Madalyn scratches her or gets the "death grip" on her nose!
My beautiful girls!

Fourth of July was fun too, we did swimming and fireworks! Kamryn and Isabella had a blast together on the slip n slide from none other than Yoko (Uncle) Bust! It was a double where they could race and who ever got the flag first won!

The fireworks were LOUD!
