Let the Holidays Begin!

So I decided to start a new Saavedra tradition (besides the obvious baking Christmas cookies). While I was working I stumbled upon an online recipe for apple cinnamon ornaments. I remember making these when I was little- vaguely... once... :o) Anyway, I thought it would be a fun thing to do with Kamryn (and the future boy or girl) during Christmas time, plus the added bonus of making the tree and the house smell good! We made the dough and baked them yesterday and today got to decorate them. Kamryn had a blast! Luckily I got a box of all kinds of cookie cutters instead of just Christmas ones because she picked out a car (Lightning McQueen) and a truck (Mack). One of her biggest things now is playing cars and the movie Cars. Here are some photos of her decorating them.

Beginning to paint Mack (I didn't have red paint so we used red glitter glue)

Time to add the eyes like they have in the movie!
I had to explain to her why only one eye would show...

Of course they needed tires...

The finished Lightning McQueen and Mack! She did them both all by herself and was SOOO proud.

Tonight we'll tie ribbon to them and hang them on the tree. She is very excited for them to dry!

On a side note... Last night while changing into pj's I looked in the mirror and was bewildered at the size of my tummy! I am 14 weeks and 3 days today, I guess I could be 15 and 3 but my doc moved me a week later due to the baby's measurement at my 8 week ultrasound. Anyway, I don't remember being this size until atleast 5 months last time, and here I am only 3 and a half months along. Well I regret not taking more pictures of my growth when I was pregnant with Kamryn so I'm vowing to try harder this time!
