Kamryn's first day of school!

Can't believe it... in a year Kamryn will start Kinder! We felt it was definitely time to get Kamryn ready for big girl school, and also time for more child interaction for sure. So we set her up in a wonderful Pre K program close to home. She goes everyday from 915-230. This is nice because we still get to have breakfast together, but it's a long enough day where me and Madalyn aren't in and out of the car all morning.

In her class they start with lesson time, then they sing songs and count. Then they have what they call "circle time." This is a different activity everyday, where 2 kiddos are grouped together and they rotate stations throughout the week. They do computer, library, puzzles, and free play with the toys. After circle time they go play on the playground for a while before it's time to come in and wash up for lunch! After lunch it's potty breaks and then nap time.
Back to her first day...

Kamryn was VERY excited! She had her Cars backpack and picked out her Cars blanket to take for naptime. We chose this time to start breaking her of the "monkey" habit. For weeks we kept reminding her that he wasn't going to school with her, so the day came and there was no fight for him. She didn't cry when I dropped her off (I don't think she quite realized that I would be leaving for 5 hours...)

When I came back to get her later I found out that she wandered the class when it was lesson time- HAHA! She thought the teacher was mean because she kept asking her to come sit down. She didn't eat her lunch (except for the fruit), and she didn't nap and cried the whole time because she didn't have monkey. I probably would have tried a few more days to see if she got used to it but the sub for naptime that day told her "she could bring monkey tomorrow." Gee thanks. She did have a great time during play and playground time and even found a boyfriend- Brett. Uh Oh!
