Weekend of Ups and Downs

Well the Saavedra's had a very interesting weekend! It started pretty well, I was feeling well enough on Friday to go hear Clint's band "Junction" play at a Bar & Grill off Blanco. Although their drummer was sick and couldn't make it, we had a lot of fun that night, many good friends showed up to offer their support and have a good time! Kamryn had a blast running up and down the dance floor, but I think her favorite part was getting to sing. To make a long story short they were asked back to play this coming Saturday, so if anyone is interested in coming down I can send you directions. Here are some pics from the night and I'll try to post the video of Kamryn singing.

Saturday was a mix of emotions. Waking up I felt worse than the past few days before and was bummed since my brother-in-law's birthday dinner was that night. We spent the day resting and luckily I felt great besides a left-over sore throat thats been bothering me for a week or so. So we were able to make it out to Macaroni's and celebrate! I don't have any photos from that night (forgot the camera) but Kamryn LOVED having her very own pepperoni pizza and when she was done she made a "leaning tower of pizza" with the rest.
She was exhausted after dinner so we did the usual home and to bed!
Thought things were going well with Kamryn and my sicknesses, until about 1am she woke up and was so hot it felt like her skin was on fire. She had developed a fever of 105. I just hate when she gets sick its so sad! So we spent the night doctoring her fever, meds would bring it down for a few hours but only to 101 or so. So this morning we called the pediatrician who reccomended we take her in. Well another long story short we spent the day in the ER to find she has "a virus." Wow. Thanks doc. While I'm glad to know its nothing serious like pneumonia or an infection, I just hate when you try to do everything for your child only to find out theres really not much you can do. Kamryn was such a little trooper though, she kept telling the doctor, "But Kamryn's all better!" So please pray for our little girl to get her through the next 2-5 days (thats a lot of Sesame Street and Veggie Tales). All we can do is keep up the meds and hope she gets better sooner rather than later! I will say we are certainly blessed to have such a healthy little girl, things could be much worse, and this was her first visit to the hospital since she was born!

Give Kamryn a big hug and kiss from me! I hope she feels better soon! I was telling Rob about her yesterday after I talked to my mom, and Isabella was VERY concerned. She kept saying, "Kamryn sick? Kamryn ok? Mommy, Kamryn ok???"
